SUMMER 2012
Performing Arts Initiative, in association with the Bath House Cultural Center and the City of Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs, announces an open call for entries for the fourteenth annual Festival of Independent Theatres, opening July 13th, 2012 and running through August 4th, 2012.
Deadline for submissions: Friday, March 2nd, 2012 by 6pm.

The four-week one-act play festival features a number of shows, each less than sixty minutes in length, performed Thursdays through Sundays in two-show blocks. The 2012 festival will bring back FIT Underground, which features live music and light refreshments available on the shore level of the Bath House Cultural Center, as well as the Fictional art exhibition in the Bath House Gallery, which showcases the work of local artists commissioned to create pieces inspired by the titles and themes of the festival shows.
FIT was created in 1999 as an outlet for smaller companies without a permanent performance space to give them an opportunity to produce seldom seen, new, or avant-garde works. FIT exists to promote awareness and growth of Dallas area theatre through collaboration, participation and cultivation.
